You might have heard of the Gartner Group?  They are a highly regarded organization and act as a Consumer Report, but for technology.  Many companies rely on their analysis – particularly for enterprise software solutions.  That means that the Gartner Group’s recognition of a software vendor is a big plus.

Recently, Gartner recognized DotNetNuke by making them one of the six vendors included in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Content Mangement, 2010” report.  Of course DotNetNuke is Lynx Ecommerce’s content provider and we feel it’s a just honor.  We think it’s pretty cool too.

One of Gartner’s key findings was “Open source continues to demand respect in content management. Several vendors are emerging that focus on open-source software (OSS), even as they add new twists such as a .NET foundation.”  Gartner went on to say “Movement toward cloud hosting and hybrid content architectures is obvious. Vendors plans to build extensible architectures that allow third parties to build and deliver content applications as add-ons”.

Of course we studied many open frame work solutions prior to choosing DotNetNuke.  Our research found that DNN was the easiest to program and allowed us to effortlessly add in our Subscription Tools.  It addition, we were impressed with the DotNetNuke community that includes a very robust group of third party programmers and designers that specialize in DNN.  Another plus is that DNN is built upon Microsoft technology which means high levels of programming tools are available.

So our congrats to DotNetNuke.
